By default, CloudConnexa displays the user's email address when authenticating via SAML with Google Workspace (formerly GSuite). However, if you'd prefer to display a custom username instead, follow these steps.
Show a custom username in CloudConnexa
- Refer to the CloudConnexa technical documentation for setting up SAMl with Google Workspace and group mapping: Tutorial: Authenticate Using SAML with G Suite.
- In your Google Admin Console, go to Directory → Users.
- Select More options and click Manage custom attributes:
- Create a Custom Attribute that you'll use to store the display name or username:
- On the required Users, add the custom name:
- For the CloudConnexa SAML's App, change the Name ID with the custom attribute you created in the second step:
- Once complete, CloudConnexa will now display the custom name you defined in the attribute instead of the user's email address:
