OpenVPN Access Server can be installed on your on-premise hardware; in the cloud using cloud providers like Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, DigitalOcean, Oracle Cloud; or on virtualization platforms like VMWare ESXi, and Microsoft Hyper-V. Other platforms not mentioned here may also work. The main requirement is for a suitable Linux operating system, whether that’s virtual or not. For most of our customers, it usually means deploying the Access Server in the same private network as your resources that need remote access.
Once you have selected your method of deployment and finalized the installation process you can configure Access Server with the Admin Web UI or through the command-line interface. The OpenVPN Access Server user manual details how to install and use OpenVPN Access Server.
