Description: When a Windows device connects to a CloudConnexa Wide-area Private Cloud (WPC) using OpenVPN Connect, the Cisco Umbrella Roaming Client may show a RED and Unprotected status.
Resolution
- Ensure you're using the latest OpenVPN Connect. Update the client software if needed.
- Allow local DNS resolvers in OpenVPN Connect:
- Open the OpenVPN Connect app.
- Click the Menu icon > Settings > Advanced Settings.
- Check the box for Allow using local DNS resolvers.

Domain Routing with Cisco Umbrella
If your CloudConnexa server is configured to use Domain Routing, you must specify the relevant domain names within the Cisco Umbrella Domain Management panel under Internal Domains.
This ensures proper resolution for internal domains and prevents conflicts with Cisco Umbrella's DNS handling.
