Overview
Deploy a Host Connector on a Linux system to provide secure access to resources running on that host. This article walks you through installing the Host Connector from the CloudConnexa Administration Portal.
Before you begin
Ensure you have the following:
- A CloudConnexa WPC.
- A supported Linux distribution.
- Terminal access with sufficient privileges to install software.
- Internet connectivity to download the installation package.
Step 1: Create the host
You can access a single Linux OS based server by deploying a Host Connector on it. Follow these steps to deploy a Host Connector for Linux:
- In the CloudConnexa Administration Portal, navigate to Hosts.
- Seelect Add Host.
- Enter the host details.
- Select Next.
Step 2: Select the Linux distribution
Open the Provider Type menu.
Under Operating Systems, select Linux.
Select the Linux distribution that matches your system. (Example: Ubuntu 24.04)
The installation commands are displayed.
Step 3: Install the Host connector
Copy the displayed commands.
Paste them into a terminal on the Linux system.
Press Enter to run the installation script.
Enter Yes when prompted.
Step 4: Connect the Host
When prompted, generate a setup token.
In the administration portal, select Generate Token.
Copy the generated token.
Paste the token into your Linux terminal.
The utility will import the connection profile and connect to CloudConnexa.
Step 5: Complete the deployment
In the administration portal, select Next.
Optionally configure:
Applications
IP Services
Access Groups
Select Finish when you're done.
Verify the deployment
From the Linux terminal
sudo openvpn3 sessions-list
From the administration portal
Navigate to Hosts → Connectors.
