CloudConnexa: Select and Set Internet Gateway Per User Group

Description: If you have multiple networks configured as internet gateways, you can assign different gateways to different user groups. For example, you can route one group's internet traffic through a Network in one geographic region and another group's traffic through a Network in a different region.

To route a user group's internet traffic through a selected gateway, configure Split Tunnel Off and assign the appropriate Internet Gateway (Egress).

This article explains how to verify available internet gateways, assign one to a user group, and confirm that internet traffic uses the selected gateway.

Step 1: Verify available internet gateways

Before assigning an internet gateway to a user group, ensure that the Network you want to use has an active Connector and internet gateway functionality enabled.

1. Sign in to the CloudConnexa Administration Portal.
2. Navigate to Networks → Networks.
3. Locate the Network you want to use as an internet gateway.
4. Verify that Internet Gateway (Egress) is set to On.
   
5. Confirm that the Network and its Connector are online.
6. Repeat these checks for any additional Networks you want to make available as internet gateways.

If a Network isn't configured as an internet gateway, configure that functionality before continuing.

Step 2: Assign an internet gateway to a user group

Configure the user group's internet access settings to route traffic through your selected Network.

1. Navigate to Access → Internet.
2. Select the User Groups tab.
3. Select Edit for the desired user group.
4. Change Internet Access to Split Tunnel Off.
5. Under Internet Gateway, select the Network you want the user group to use for internet access.
6. Select Update Internet Access.
   

The selected Network is now assigned as the internet gateway for the user group. Repeat these steps for additional user groups if you want to assign different internet gateways.

Verify the internet gateway

Confirm that a user group's internet traffic exits through the assigned Network.

1. Connect to CloudConnexa using a device associated with a user in the configured user group.

2. Open a web browser and navigate to an IP address lookup service, such as IPChicken.

3. Check the public IP address displayed by the service.

4. Verify that the address matches the expected public egress IP address of your selected internet gateway.
