Access Server: What are the configuration steps for OpenVPN Access Server?

Here’s how you can get started quickly with OpenVPN Access Server.

Have a Linux operating system running with Access Server installed. This can be a physical Linux installation or a virtual Linux environment. Our virtual appliances and cloud offerings already offer this right from the start.
Sign in through SSH and run through the basic configuration questions for Access Server. You may select the default for all settings as they all be changed afterward in the web interface. When you’re asked for an activation key, you can leave that empty if you’re not ready to license this server yet.
Next, gain root privileges and set a password for the OpenVPN user.
You can now access the Admin Web UI at HTTPS://[yourserveraddresshere]/admin and sign in with your OpenVPN user and password.
In the Admin Web UI, you can verify the public address of your server by clicking on Configuration > Network Settings. It displays in the Hostname or IP Address field. If you need to change it, do so, then click on Save Settings, and Update Running Servers. You can add users by clicking on User Management > User Permissions. Add each user by entering a new username, clicking on the More Settings icon, entering the password, then clicking on Save Settings and Update Running Servers. to the User Permissions page and set passwords for them.
Your new users can sign in to the Client UI, at HTTPS://[yourserveraddresshere] with their username and password and download the OpenVPN Connect client to connect to your VPN server.
