Solution
OpenVPN Connect v3 supports both Apple silicon and Intel-based macOS devices. If you use an Apple silicon Mac, reinstall OpenVPN Connect using the Apple silicon version of the installer.
Select the Apple menu.
Select About This Mac.
-
Check your processor (chip) type:
If you see Apple M1, M2, M3, or newer, your device uses Apple silicon.
If you see Intel, your device uses an Intel processor.
Go to the OpenVPN Connect download page and download the macOS installer package (
.dmg).Open the downloaded
.dmgfile.-
Select the installer that matches your Mac architecture:
Mac with Apple silicon chip for Apple silicon devices.
Mac with Intel chip for Intel-based devices.
Complete the installation.
Installing the Apple silicon version avoids future compatibility issues as Apple phases out Rosetta support in future macOS releases.
